For enhanced safety, the front seat shoulder belts of the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport are height-adjustable to accommodate a wide variety of driver and passenger heights. A better fit can prevent injuries and the increased comfort also encourages passengers to buckle up. The Jaguar E-Pace doesn’t offer height-adjustable seat belts.

The Atlas Cross Sport has standard Automatic Post-Collision Braking System, which automatically apply the brakes in the event of a crash to help prevent secondary collisions and prevent further injuries. The E-Pace doesn’t offer a post collision braking system: in the event of a collision that triggers the airbags, more collisions are possible without the protection of airbags that may have already deployed.

Over 200 people are killed each year when backed over by motor vehicles. The Atlas Cross Sport offers optional Maneuver Braking that uses rear sensors to monitor and automatically apply the brakes to prevent a rear collision. The E-Pace doesn’t offer backup collision prevention brakes.

Both the Atlas Cross Sport and the E-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, available all wheel drive, lane departure warning systems and around view monitors.

The Atlas Cross Sport’s corrosion warranty is 1 year longer than the E-Pace’s (7 vs. 6 years).

There are over 3 times as many Volkswagen dealers as there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Atlas Cross Sport’s warranty.

The Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport’s engines use a cast iron block for durability, while the E-Pace’s engine uses an aluminum block. Aluminum engine blocks are much more prone to warp and crack at high temperatures than cast iron.

A reliable vehicle saves its owner time, money and trouble. Nobody wants to be stranded or have to be without a vehicle while it’s being repaired. Consumer Reports rates the Atlas Cross Sport’s reliability 16 points higher than the E-Pace.

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2022 survey of the owners of three-year-old vehicles provides the long-term dependability statistics that show that Volkswagen vehicles are more reliable than Jaguar With 16 fewer problems per 100 vehicles in the first three years of ownership, J.D. Power ranks Volkswagen higher than Jaguar.

The Atlas Cross Sport’s optional 3.6 DOHC V6 produces 30 more horsepower (276 vs. 246) than the E-Pace’s 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder.

To lower fuel costs and make buying fuel easier, the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport uses regular unleaded gasoline (premium recommended with the 2.0 turbo 4-cylinder engine for maximum performance). The E-Pace requires premium, which can cost 20 to 55 cents more per gallon.

The Atlas Cross Sport has almost a gallon more fuel capacity than the E-Pace (18.6 vs. 17.7 gallons), for longer range between fill-ups.

For better traction, the Atlas Cross Sport has larger standard tires than the E-Pace (245/60R18 vs. 235/55R19). The Atlas Cross Sport SEL Premium R-Line’s tires are larger than the largest tires available on the E-Pace (265/45R21 vs. 245/45R20).

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Atlas Cross Sport’s wheelbase is 11.7 inches longer than on the E-Pace (117.3 inches vs. 105.6 inches).

For better handling and stability, the track (width between the wheels) on the Atlas Cross Sport is 2.8 inches wider in the front and 3.5 inches wider in the rear than the average track on the E-Pace.

The Atlas Cross Sport’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (57% to 43%) than the E-Pace’s (58.7% to 41.3%). This gives the Atlas Cross Sport more stable handling and braking.

The Atlas Cross Sport SEL 4Motion handles at .81 G’s, while the E-Pace SE pulls only .80 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Atlas Cross Sport SEL 4Motion executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1 seconds quicker than the E-Pace SE (27.4 seconds @ .61 average G’s vs. 28.4 seconds @ .6 average G’s).

The Atlas Cross Sport has 1 inch more front headroom, 1.6 inches more front legroom, 5.4 inches more front shoulder room, 6.1 inches more rear legroom and 4.8 inches more rear shoulder room than the E-Pace.

For enhanced passenger comfort on long trips the Atlas Cross Sport’s rear seats recline. The E-Pace’s rear seats don’t recline.

The Atlas Cross Sport has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat up than the E-Pace with its rear seat up (40.3 vs. 22.4 cubic feet). The Atlas Cross Sport has a much larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the E-Pace with its rear seat folded (77.8 vs. 49.5 cubic feet).

Maximum trailer towing in the Jaguar E-Pace is limited to 3968 pounds. The Atlas Cross Sport offers up to a 5000 lbs. towing capacity.

If the windows are left open on the Atlas Cross Sport the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can lower the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the E-Pace can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Atlas Cross Sport has a standard locking fuel door with a remote release located convenient to the driver. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank. The E-Pace doesn’t offer a locking fuel door.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Atlas Cross Sport to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. Heated windshield washer nozzles cost extra on the E-Pace.

Consumer Reports rated the Atlas Cross Sport’s headlight performance “Good,” a higher rating than the E-Pace’s headlights, which were rated “Fair.”

To help drivers avoid possible obstacles, the Atlas Cross Sport offers optional cornering lights to illuminate around corners when the turn signals are activated. The E-Pace doesn’t offer cornering lights. The Atlas Cross Sport SEL Premium R-Line also has standard adaptive headlights to illuminate around corners automatically by reading vehicle speed and steering wheel angle.

To shield the driver and front passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield and side windows, the Atlas Cross Sport has standard extendable sun visors. The E-Pace doesn’t offer extendable visors.

Manual rear side window sunshades are available in the Atlas Cross Sport to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The E-Pace doesn’t offer rear side window sunshades.

Standard air-conditioned seats in the Atlas Cross Sport SEL Premium R-Line keep the driver and front passenger comfortable and take the sting out of hot seats in Summer. The E-Pace doesn’t offer air-conditioned seats.

The Atlas Cross Sport offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The E-Pace doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Atlas Cross Sport SEL Premium R-Line’s Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, with the driver only controlling speed with the brake pedal. The E-Pace doesn’t offer an automated parking system.

The Atlas Cross Sport is available in both front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. The E-Pace doesn’t offer a two-wheel drive configuration.
